It is an epic adventure, twisting its way through the peaks and valleys of the past and taking hopeful turns for the future. Its plot is steeped in little-known secrets and monumental events forever carved in history. Its setting spans every county in the state and features a full and fascinating cast of local, unsung heroes and world-famous champions of change. Welcome to the unprecedented, unabridged and often unexpected story of Making Alabama. A Bicentennial Traveling Exhibit. Making Alabama is presented by Alabama Humanities Foundation in partnership with Alabama Department of Archives and History and the Alabama Bicentennial Commission.

    Ages 10 and Up. Maybe the next Zuckerberg sleeps in your house. Code Club at the Lewis Cooper Jr Memorial Library is going to teach your kids how to make website, apps, and games in a fun environment. Give them much needed exposure to STEM education and let them get ahead of the crowd. Not only could they become the next tech billionaire, but they'll learn valuable critical thinking skills at the same time. Bring your own laptop if you have one, but it is not required.

  4. Stuffed Animal Sleepover

    Drop off your fuzzy friends on Thursday, April 12 by 6PM for a library sleepover they’ll never forget! Pick them up the following day at 10am story time and you might be surprised by what they got into when you weren’t around. Photos of library shenanigans will be posted to the Lewis Cooper Jr. Memorial Library Facebook page and Instagram. Tag and share from there! Can't make it to the story time pick up? No problem! Pick up any time on Friday.
